Kyle and I were first introduced to each other at a mutual friend’s game night party in the year 2010. I was a young sophomore in high school, while Kyle was shamelessly enjoying his second year of college. The age difference kept us from being anything but close friends. Even still, our relationship grew stronger as I went through my trying high school years. Kyle was always the person I turned to when I needed advice, a shoulder to cry on, or a pat on the back. He stuck up for me and protected me when he knew I was making poor decisions. He continually steered me on a path of righteousness, even when he didn’t realize it. In the year 2012, we lost touch. Life had caught up to us and through a series of unfortunate events; we hadn’t talked in over a year. As the Lord would have it, we reconnected in 2013 when I began attending his Alma matter: California Baptist University. I reached out to him for guidance pertaining to my degree and for whatever reason we never stopped talking. Effortlessly, Kyle convinced me to go out on a date with him. I promised myself that I wouldn’t fall in love with him, he already knew way too much about me. However, about thirty minutes into our dinner, I knew that Kyle was the one. I haven’t stopped smiling since April 26, 2014.
